The annual Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (ZAA) is one of the most important events in the African community in the UK. The awards born in 2010 celebrate the best in talent, art, business, expression and achievement in the Zimbabwean community.

This years awards were hosted at the Royal Garden Hotel in London on Saturday and gave special recognition to UK-based church and community organisations that have made significant and consistent contributions to the Zimbabwean community.

The thing we love about the awards is that they have a category for best author and those in the running this year were Tendai Huchu, Epi Mabika , Rudo Muchoko and Daniel Sebata.
Daniel Sebata is a teacher who works in health in Dorset and is the author Why Rock The Boat When You Don’t Know How To Swim which came out last year. Rudo Muchoko is a nail technician and her book When Love Strikes came out in 2013. Epi Mabika is a Motivational Speaker, Corporate Trainer, Lifestyle Coach, and Entrepreneur. Her book is Success GRAVITY: 7 Keys to Unlock Your Dream Lifestyle a motivation type book.

The final one in that list is Tendai Huchu whose books include The Hairdresser of Harare (my review) and The Maestro, The Magistrate & The Mathematician. He was voted as the best author in his category. Congratulations to Bwana Huchu.
