Zukiswa Wanner, Panashe Chigumadzi and Abubakar Adam Ibrahim will be in discussions about their work in Abuja and Johannesburg today.
It’s a Super Thursday as far as we are concerned as some of the more well regarded names in the African literature are concerned talk about their work in unrelated events in two African cities. Abubakar Adam Ibrahim will be reading from his book Season of Crimson Blossoms at the Thought Pyramid art centre in Abuja at 7pm. This new book shall be reviewed here on JamesMurua.com tomorrow. The event is brought by the German embassy in Nigeria.
In Johannesburg, Zukiswa Wanner and Panashe Chigumadzi will be the featured guests of the Literary Crossroads that happen at the Goethe Institut, 112 Jan Smuts Avenue. Zukiswa Wanner is the author of several books her most recent London Cape Town Joburg being awarded last year at the South African literary awards. Chigumadzi’s debut novel is Sweet Medicine and you can read our review here. Their topic of discussion will be Quo Vadis Africa: The Power of Words – The Words of Power and they will be moderated columnist and radio personality Ndumiso Ngcobo. The event will also be at 7pm the preferred time for African literary events clearly.
