South Africa’s Shafinaaz Hassim for Malawi

Shafinaaz Hassim is a South African author, poet and sociologist. Her works include “Daughters are Diamonds: Honour, Shame & Seclusion- A South African Perspective” (2007) and “Memoirs For Kimya” (2009). The most recent novel of the editor of “Belly of Fire: an anthology” (2011) is “SoPhia” (Nov,2012) a book dealing with domestic violence. She was also the one of the writers recognised as one of the top African writers under 40 in the Africa39 project.

Hassim will be a guest of The Story Club Malawi at an international Literary Session at the Mibawa Café in Blantyre, this Sunday, the 19th of April from 2PM. She will be talking about publishing opportunities, the process of writing, the South African literary scene, music, poetry, drama, movies, and all that.
The bar will be open and this shall be a free-to-mingle spirited session. Dan Lu will also grace the event with song.
