The first episode of the innovative new concept was introduced to the world at the Edinburgh Book Festival this past Friday. In that episode, the show’s executive producer Thando Mgqolozana sat down with presenter Sihle-isipho Nontshokweni and spoke about his journey as an artist and a curator of the Abantu Book Festival. You can watch the fifty something minute long show by clicking here (don’t forget to register and login first).
Over the weekend, it emerged that the show’s executive producer Thando Mgqolozana was accused of intimate partner violence towards the mother of his child. The former partner is said to have posted tweets of his alleged violence and then deleted them. As we wait for clarification from our friends in South Africa, we must at this instance state that the policy here at James Murua Literary is to believe victims. #IBelieveHer
