Schwarz Bewegt(e) Literatur (Black Moves Literature) will be hosted in the German city of Berlin on Sunday, November 14, 2021.
Schwarz Bewegt(e) Literatur is set to run at The Grand in Berlin, Germany this coming Sunday. The event follows controversy at the Frankfurter Buchmesse as some participants pulled out due to the presence of far right groups. Among those who didn’t take part were Jasmina Kuhnke, Nikeata Thompson and Annabelle Mandeng. This new event centres the Black or Afro German writer and is also referred in their communication as the #BlackBuchmesse.
Some of those who will participate in this event are Ciani-Sophie Hoeder, Dayan Kodua, Annabelle Mandeng, Sharon Dodua Otoo, Tebogo Nimindé-Dundadengar, Olaolu Fajembola, Emilia Roig, Melanelle B. C. Hémêfa, Shaheen Wacker, Meret Weber, Fatuma Musa Afrah, Winnie Akeri, Jenner Hendrixx, Alica Hasters, Stefanie-Lahya Aukongo and Christelle Nkwendja-Ngnoubamdjum.
Readings will take place in the ballroom and the suites on the same floor will be used as meeting places and for book presentations. Below is the full schedule;
