Callouts Festivals Ghana

Pa Gya! A Literary Festival 2022 for Accra in October.

The Pa Gya! A Literary Festival 2022, the sixth edition, will be hosted in Accra, Ghana from October 14-16, 2022.

Pa Gya! A Literary Festival is a three day literary arts festival featuring activities such as readings, panel discussions, performances, book launches and sales, literary prize awards, and much more. Its name Pa Gya! comes from the Twi word meaning “to lift up” or “to strike flame” and it is aimed at igniting passion for the literary arts. It was first hosted by the Writers Project of Ghana and the Goethe-Institut in 2017 followed by other successful editions in 201820192020, and 2021.

The festival will this year run in October and the festival organisers have made a callout for proposals and collaboration from organizations, groups, or persons interested in participating in this year’s festival.

The proposals must focus on literary output (writing, books, performance, etc.) or activities (workshops, book clubs, etc.) or related projects. Interested persons, organizations, and groups who wish to present or stage an event may email them until June 17, 2022, following which they will be reviewed and successful projects will be contacted in July 2022.
