World famous Kenyan writer Ngugi Wa Thiong’o will at the end of the month appear at a festival for the first time with his writer kids Mukoma Wa Ngugi and Wanjiku Wa Ngugi in Jamaica.
Ngugi Wa Thiong’o needs no introduction but if you are wondering who he is just google. His son Mukoma Wa Ngugi has followed in his footsteps with his crime fiction Nairobi Heat and Black Star Nairobi as well as for his work in work as professor of literature at Cornel University. He has already shared the stage with his father. Wanjiku Wa Ngugi is still the new one to the writing game with her book The Fall of Saints.
The three writers will be guests of the Calabash International Literary Festival one of the best-managed with workshops, seminars and performances in the Caribbean with some of the more well known authors in the planet attending. This years festival will also feature the names of writers that are very well respected in the world and include Salman Rushdie, Zadie Smith and a host of others.
