Jordan Ifueko and Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki are on the shortlists for the British Science Fiction Awards 2021 announced on March 1, 2022. 

The British Science Fiction Awards, a production of the British Science Fiction Association, have been presented annually since 1970. The awards are voted on by members of the British Science Fiction Association and by the members of Eastercon, the national science fiction convention, held since 1955.

The longlists for work done in 2021 in the different categories were revealed on January 22. The following writers of African descent made the shortlist in the following categories;

Best Fiction for Young Readers

  • Redemptor, by Jordan Ifueko

Best Short Fiction

  • O2 Arena, by Oghenechovwe Donald Ekpeki

British Science Fiction Association members will have until April 16 to help choose the winners for the awards. The voting form is available to BSFA members here.
