The #longstorySHORT project is one that tries to bring life to literature by having some of the best storytellers told by some of those who tell stories the best. This is a partnership between word smiths and those who perform best in the business around the continent.
The fourth in the series of public readings happened at the Es’kia Mphalele Community Library in Pretoria on Saturday June 27. The featured story was The Weeping Willow by Thando Mgqolozana and was read by film, TV and theatre actor Khulu Skenjana.
After the story was read there was a panel between the young author and #longstorySHORT patron and South National Poet Laureate Prof Keorapetse Kgositsile. There was also an address by the curator of the project, Yewande Omotoso famous as author of Bom Boy and shortlistee to the Etisalat Prize for African Literature 2014.
