The Hargeysa International Book Fair 2021 is set to happen at the Hargeysa Cultural Centre, Hargeisa, Somaliland from July 24-29, 2021.

The Hargeysa International Book Fair, hosted annually by the Redsea Cultural Foundation since 2008, is without a doubt the biggest literary extravaganza in the East African region. From humble beginnings, it is now one of the most anticipated in the region hosting writers, journalists, academics, publishers, artists, journalists, and other professionals from dozens of nations for a series of events. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the physical part of the fair had to be cancelled with bibliophiles having to make do with a small number of virtual events.

The 2021 edition of the fair is set to return to the Eastern African nation the organisers announced on March 22.  We can expect a lot of excitement at the Hargeysa Cultural Centre in the last week of July for an event with the theme “Neighbourhood.” That theme continues as this year, the country partner for 2021 is Ethiopia.

For more information on the fair, I recommend that you follow the organisers on their official Twitter page.
