The Ghana International Book Fair 2021 starts at the National Theatre of Ghana, Accra today, Thursday, August 26, and runs until Sunday, August 29, 2021. The theme is “books for people from all walks of life.”
The Ghana International Book Fair brings together book industry players (both local and international) like publishers, editors, authors/ writers, designers, illustrators, printers, librarians, booksellers, students, teachers and a host of allied organisations, to showcase innovations that have occurred in the publishing industry, to share ideas, foster strong links, explore business opportunities and enhance the visibility and recognition of players in the book industry. The fair organised by the Ghana Publishers Association had to be cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
The 2021 edition of one of the longest running book fair in the region kicks off today in Accra. The event will include the usual events that are expected for one that had been around for 18 years. These includes book readings with several targeted at children and young adults, publishers can do trades while bibliophiles will get discounts for books.
