You can now put in your entry for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize for 2015. This year’s Commonwealth Short Story Prize is part-funded by The Sigrid Rausing Trust – we laud, not slam you, Sigrid Rausing Trust.
The process is simple. You submit your short story via the online application form between 15 September and 15 November 2014. If you are lucky you will be selected amongst the five winning writers from five different Commonwealth regions. If you are reading this you will be in a chance to be the African regional winner and that comes with £2500. Your are then entered into the world category and here if you win you go home £5000.
It can be done. Just the other day Jennifer Makumbi was but a Ugandan lecturer in England minding her own business when she entered for this prize and to her pleasant surprise went home with both regional and international Commonwealth Prize. This could be you… Except that with an African winning this year will be they allow another one to win the international one in the next year? You could be the one to convince them.
UPDATE: Submissions have now been closed.
