Texas State University MFA

Callout: Opportunity to do your MFA (almost free) at Texas State University.

The Texas State University has made a call out for those who wish to do a Master in Fine Arts (MFA) in creative writing.

One of the things we do here at JamesMurua.com is share opportunities for writers when they become known to us. An opportunity for those who wish to do an MFA is available to prospective writers as Texas State University in the USA seeks applications for their 2020 academic year.

Stanislav A. Rivkin, the Coordinator and Assistant Director of the MFA Program at Texas State University, says of the opportunity, “Our MFA program offers talented writers the time and opportunity to develop skills as fiction writers or poets, network with renowned writers and agents from across the world, and attain valuable experience in the publishing industry. Throughout the program, students receive feedback on their creative work, and produce a book-length manuscript.

One of the most important questions for most is how they would pay for such a program. We are assured that tuition is free for most students at TSU, including international students. In fact, because about 90% of the incoming students receive an Assistantship award, they not only have their tuition covered, but they also retain a modest stipend. Not bad.

If you think that this is your cup of tea (or coffee or beer or wine or whiskey), you can find more information about the program by clicking here.

The application deadline is January 1, 2020.
