Zukiswa Wanner is one of the most recognised names in South African literary circles. She emerged in 2006 with the Oshun books published The Madams about a black South African woman who takes the services of a white South African maid. She followed through in 2008 with the Kwela Books published Behind Every Successful Man, my favourite title from the writer, about a woman who decides to take charge of her life and start a business. In 2010, Men of the South also published by Kwela came out; this one was about three men who have different relationships with one South African woman. They are a musician, a gay dude and a Zimbabwean immigrant. The book received a Commonwealth Best Book Africa Prize 2011 shortlist.
She also has written other books most notable being a non fiction book Maid In SA about the women and their maids in Mzansi published by Jacana.
