Legendary Kenyan author Ngugi Wa Thiong’o is famous for his many many books having written his first in the 1960s starting with Weep Not, Child, in 1964 to his latest offering Dreams in a Time of War: A Childhood Memoir.
In the recent past, Ngugi’s son Mukoma Wa Ngugi showed that the banana doesn’t fall too far from the tree when he unleashed his book Nairobi Heat which was received quite well received. The newest book from the Cornell professor of African literature is Black Star Nairobi.
It looks like having the Ngugi blood is very literature friendly. His daughter Wanjiku Wa Ngugi has put her name out in the writing space with her debut novel The Fall of Saints: A Novel. The book is described in Amazon as;
“In this stunning debut novel, a Kenyan expat living the American dream with her husband and adopted son soon finds it marred by child trafficking, scandal, and a problematic past. ”
